Monument to Kiev City founders – Kyi, Schek, Khoryv and their sister Lybid. The legend of three brothers and their sister is widely recognized as the most popular legend of Kiev’s foundation and urban naming.
In 1982, the memorial was set to commemorate the 1500 anniversary of the Kiev’s foundation. You can find the monument, if you walk down the alleys of Navodnitsky Park which begins near the Paton Bridge or just walk about 15-20 minutes from the Dnipro Metro Station south along the bank of the Dnipro River to get to the place. It is traditional for just-married couples to throw bouquets of flowers over their shoulders on to the top of the boat. If they are lucky to get the boat, it means the family life will be long and happy.
All the material is prepared by a local tour guide in Kiev Anna Dmitrenko.
