A historical landscape park “Alexandria” of 2 km2 (0.77 sq mi) is situated in Bila Tserkva. It was founded in 1793 by the wife of the Polish hetman Franciszek Ksawery Branicki. Her name was Alexandra Engelgardt.
Surface decorative water park (pond and river Ros’) is 21 ha. The total length of paths and tracks is over 20 km. The Park is a model of a park landscape composition, with the plants, architecture, sculpture, water surface of the Ros river and ponds. The Park is very important because of its natural, historical, cultural and scenic values, for the purpose of conserving and popularizing those values in conditions of balanced development.
Bila Tserkva is a city located on the Ros’ River in the Kiev region in central Ukraine about 80 km south of Kiev. Ros is a river of 346 km in length, it is a right tributary of the Dnieper river. In the 1960’s and 90’s. this river was a very popular place of rest. Clean, clear water, beautiful landscapes – all this attracted holidaymakers from all over the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, today the Ros river suffers ecological disaster.
