Cossacs' fortress Zaporizka Sich

Khortytsia Island is a large island on the Dnieper river, extending from northwest to southeast for more than twelve kilometers, has an average width of 2,500 meters. The Khortytsia Island faces modern Zaporizhia across the Dnieper River, was one of the historic locations for the Zaporizhian Sich (main fortress capital of the Cossack state).
