The Mgar Orthodox monastery was founded in 1619 by Princess Raina Mogylyanka Vyshnevetska, the cousin of famous Petro Mogyla, the founder of most ancient Eastern Slavic University in Kyiv (Kiev). Raina Vyshnevetska was the land-lady of huge territories near Lubny in Eastern Ukraine, which then was part of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The monastery belonged to Moscow Orthodox Church.

The Kara Dag volcanic mountain is located in Crimea near Koktebel. It is also a nature reserve. Koktebel was known as a vacation spot for writers in the Soviet Union. There is a mixture of public and private beaches with a paved walkway all along the bay. On this walkway there are small restaurants, cafes, kiosks, and small market areas selling arts and crafts, dried fish. In the evening, the walkway comes alive with many small discos.

Granite-steppe lands of Buh is a regional landscape park in the north-west of Mykolaiv Oblast in Ukraine.

The park includes the river valley of Southern Buh and the ravine-like vallies of its tributaries: Big Korabelna, Bashkala, and Mertvovod.

The park stretches on 70 km from the southern part of Pervomaisk to the village of Oleksandrivka in Voznesenskyi Raion.

It was established in 1994 by the decision of the Mykolaiv Oblast council and is located on the territory of Pervomayskyi, Arbuzynskyi, Domanevskyi, and Voznesenskyi Raions.

The area of the park is 6267 ha.
